Beef Carbonnadi Recipe

  1. In a bag, combine flour, salt and pepper.
  2. Add in beef cubes, shake to coat.
  3. Heat 3 Tbsp.
  4. oil in Dutch oven.
  5. Add in seasoned beef, brown.
  6. Remove to side dish.
  7. In same skillet, heat remaining 2 Tbsp.
  8. oil.
  9. Saute/fry onions and garlic till light color.
  10. Stir in leftover flour, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  11. Gradually add in beer and stock, bring to boil.
  12. Stir in ketchup, mace, bay leaf, sugar, vinegar and mustard.
  13. Add in the browned beef cubes and carrots.
  14. Cover tightly.
  15. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 1 1/4 hrs.
  16. Add in mushrooms.
  17. Bake 25-30 min longer.
  18. Can be cooked on top of stove.
