Sour Dough Honey Gold Bread Recipe
- 1 quart. culture, set overnight
- 2 c. lowfat milk (scald, cold, add in 1 pkg. yeast)
- 2 tbsp. butter, add in to culture
- 1/4 c. honey
- 2 c. wheat flour
- 1/4 c. wheat germ
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 c. flour
- For oatmeal bread omit wheat germ and add in 2 c. oats.
- Add in wheat flour, wheat germ, sugar, salt and baking soda and let rest 30 min.
- Stir down.
- Add in flour and then knead.
- Let dough rise twice and then shape into loaves and rise.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20 min and at 300 degrees for - till bread shrinks from sides of pans.
