Onion Bread Twist
- 1 pkg. Pillsbury hot roll mix
- 3/4 c. very warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 c. chopped onion or 2 Tbsp. instant minced onion
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. water
- 1 egg white
- 1 Tbsp. sesame seed
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast from hot roll mix in water. Stir in cheese, onion, oil, mustard and egg. Add flour mixture. Blend well. Cover.
- Let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size, 45 to 60 minutes. Grease (not oil) cookie sheet.
- On well floured surface, toss dough until no longer sticky. Divide dough into 2 pieces.
- Shape each into a 12-inch long roll.
- On greased cookie sheet, twist the 2 rolls together 3 times; seal ends.
- Beat water with egg white; brush over loaf.
- Sprinkle with sesame seed. Let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size, 30 to 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Makes 1 loaf.
