Baked Macaroni And Cheese
- 2 c. uncooked shell macaroni, cooked in unsalted water until tender
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 large jar Cheez Whiz (optional)
- 1 small bag shredded cheese
- 1 c. saltine cracker crumbs
- Cook macaroni until tender; drain.
- In medium saucepan, melt butter, stirring in flour, dry mustard and salt.
- Blend in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
- Stir until melted.
- Combine macaroni and cheese sauce; mix well.
- Pour into greased casserole dish (approximately 2-quart).
- Top with cheese and crackers.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until
- hot and bubbly.
