Lamb and Green Bean Ragout

  1. In a large heavy saucepan, brown lamb over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and cook onion until just transparent.
  3. Reduce heat to low, add green beans and cook until they begin to soften.
  4. Add tomato sauce and allspice, cover and simmer.
  5. Cook 30-40 minutes, until lamb and beans are tender.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes.
