Brownies with Peanut Butter Topping

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Sift flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt onto wax paper.
  3. Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a medium-size bowl with electric mixer until fluffy.
  4. Stir in dry ingredients; beat untilsmooth.
  5. Fold in 1/2 cup of the chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into greased 13x9x2-inch pan.
  7. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove pan from oven to wire rack; sprinkle with peanut butter chips.
  9. Let stand about 5 minutes, then spread evenly with a small metal spatula.
  10. Sprinkle with remaining nuts, patting down gently.
  11. Cool; cut into bars
