Shaker Sugar Pie
- 1 each pie shell (9 inch) 9 inch, unbaked
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, light firmly packed
- 1 pinch nutmeg ground
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup flour, all-purpose
- 2 cups cream
- Prick pie shell and bake at 450 F 5 minutes.
- Set aside.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350F (180C).
- Mix the brown sugar with flour until blended.
- Spoon over bottom of partially baked pie shell.
- Combine the cream, extract, and nutmeg; pour over sugar in pie shell.
- Dot with the butter.
- Bake at 350F (180C) about 55 minutes, or until crust is lightly browned and filling is set.
