Christmas Cream Cheese Cookies

  1. Cream together the butter and cream cheese.
  2. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
  3. Combine the flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture until well mixed.
  4. Cover bowl and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  5. Shape dough into three 6" rolls, 1.5" in diameter.
  6. Wrap each roll tigtly in waxed paper and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  8. Remove one roll of dough from refrigerator at a time.
  9. Coat each roll with red or green sugar crystals or a combination.
  10. Cut dough into 1/4" slices.
  11. Bake for 10-12 minutes on greased cookie sheet or until set.
