John's Salad
- 4 -5 tomatoes
- 2 green bell peppers
- 1 large red onion
- 34 cup olive oil
- 14 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic clove
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 12 teaspoons salt
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 7 -8 fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Chop the tomatoes, peppers and red onion into bite sized pieces.
- Combine the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper and pour over the vegetables.
- Chop the basil and add.
- Chill for at least 2 hours, but it gets better the longer it marinates.
