Apple Apricot Bread Recipe

  1. Pour boiling water over dry apricots and let stand.
  2. Sift flour, baking pwdr, soda, salt and allspice.
  3. Add in lowfat milk to apricot juice to make 2/3 c. Beat the shortening adding sugar gradually.
  4. Beat in the egg.
  5. Add in dry ingredients alternately with the liquid.
  6. Mix in the fruit and walnuts.
  7. Spoon into a greased and floured pan, 9x5.
  8. Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour.
  9. Cold on rack.
