Easy Pan-Roasted Steak

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
  2. Place steak on a flat surface and allow to come to room temperature while you make the spice rub.
  3. Mix together salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, granulated onion, and sugar in a small mixing bowl.
  4. This will be the seasoning you will add to the steak.
  5. Generously coat the steak with the spice rub; you will have leftover seasoning.
  6. Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over high heat.
  7. Once hot, add oil and allow to get hot.
  8. Once oil is hot, place seasoned steak in the pan and sear for 1 minute.
  9. Flip and sear for an additional minute on the other side.
  10. Place the pan into the oven and cook for 3 minutes.
  11. Flip the steak and cook another 3 minutes in the oven.
  12. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and then the steak from the pan.
  13. Cover the steak with aluminum foil for 5 minutes.
  14. This timing will result in medium-cooked steaksperfectly pink and juicy.
