Orange Bread
- 4 cups pre-sifted flour
- 1 23 cups sugar
- 6 teaspoons double action baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 orange, grinded to make one cup skin and all
- 1 12 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 12 cup cooking oil
- Beat eggs in mixing bowl until thick.
- Add oil and beat for one minute.
- Combine flour, salt, sugar and baking powder; add to egg mixture.
- Add one cup orange.
- On low speed of mixer add milk slowly.
- Put mixer to medium speed and beat 2 minutes.
- Divide into 3 greased and floured one pound loaf pans and allow to stand 20 minutes before baking.
- Place in a 400* oven until loaves rise to the top of the pan and start to brown slightly, turn the oven to 300* and score tops once lengthwise with the point of a sharp knife.
- Bake about 20 minutes more or until tests done.
- Allow to stand in pan 10 minutes.
