Baker's Chocolate Brownies Recipe
- 2 ounce unsweetened chocolate
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 c. minced nuts
- Heat chocolate with shortening over low heat-a double boiler works better for this.
- Mix flour with baking pwdr and salt.
- Beat Large eggs well; then gradually beat in the sugar.
- Blend in the chocolate mix and vanilla.
- Add in flour mix and blend well, stir in nuts.
- Spread in a greased 8-inch square pan.
- Bake 350: for 25 min (for moist, chewy brownies); or possibly about 30 min or possibly till tester comes out clean when inserted in the center of the brownies (this will be cakelike brownies).
- Cold in the pan, then cut into squares.
- NOTES : Recipe may be doubled, bake in a greased 9x13" pan at 350: for 25-30 min.
