Block Party Barbecue Recipe
- 6 lbs. beef brisket
- 1/4 c. liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1 teaspoon onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 c. water
- Place beef brisket, liquid smoke and garlic pwdr in a large oven roaster.
- Cover and bake in a 274 degree oven till fork tender, about 5 to 6 hrs.
- Reserve 1 c. meat juices.
- Refrigeratemeat for easier slicing.
- Remove excess fat from meat; slice thinly across the grain.
- SAUCE: Add in sliced beef to sauce and mix well.
- Heat and serve.
- Meat mix will generously fill 36 hamburger or possibly hard rolls.
- For easier eating, slice rolls only part way through, forming a pocket for the Block Party Barbecue.
- NOTE: Meat and barbecue sauce mix may be prepared ahead.
- Combine meat and sauce; chill or possibly freeze.
- Heat just before serving.
