Butter Rolls

  1. Make up your favorite biscuit dough, omitting shortening. Divide dough and roll out on a floured surface to 3/4-inch thick. Spread margarine over rolled dough and sprinkle with sugar to cover and a few drops of vanilla. Roll up like a jelly roll.
  2. Cut in biscuit size pieces and arrange in a pan, cut side down. Continue until all dough is used.
  3. Add a few drops of vanilla to enough milk to nearly cover rolls and pour over them.
  4. Cover tops with sugar, about 1 cup.
  5. Bake at 350u0b0 until slightly brown. If rolls tend to get too dry, add a few drops of vanilla, 3/4 cup sugar (and cinnamon, if desired) to 2 cups of milk, heat in a saucepan until slightly thick, then pour over rolls.
  6. Serve warm or cold.
