Mixed Greens with Turkey Sausage

  1. Wash greens, removing all grit.
  2. Remove and discard hard stems.
  3. Stack greens in small bunches; roll up.
  4. Cut crosswise into wide strips.
  5. Melt shortening in large skillet on medium heat.
  6. Add onions and garlic; cook 3 to 5 min.
  7. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
  8. Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
  9. Stir in greens; simmer on low heat 45 min.
  10. to 1 hour or until tender, stirring occasionally.
