Pasticcio
- 1 (7 oz.) pkg. macaroni
- 3/4 lb. hamburger
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Cook macaroni as directed on package; drain.
- While macaroni is cooking, cook and stir hamburger and onion until beef is brown. Drain fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce and salt.
- Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until liquid is almost absorbed, about 8 minutes.
- Spread half of macaroni in greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Cover with hamburger mixture.
- Mix 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese and the nutmeg; sprinkle over beef mixture. Cover with remaining macaroni.
