String Bean Oregonal
- 2 lb. any style string beans
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/8 c. dry oregano
- 1/8 c. olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp. dry basil
- 1 tsp. crushed black peppercorns
- 1 tsp. green peppercorns, crushed
- 1 tsp. white peppercorns, crushed
- 1 tsp. salt
- Cook string beans as desired (boil, steam, microwave, etc.); set aside.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, heat butter and oil.
- Add the crushed garlic and peppercorns.
- Add remaining ingredients except the cheese.
- Mix well and heat until it just begins to bubble.
- Remove from heat.
- Add beans, mixing thoroughly.
- Place on a warm serving dish.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the string beans and serve.
- Serves 8.
