Pumpkin Pie Streusel Loaf

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine brown sugar and 1/4 cup flour in medium bowl.
  3. Use pastry blender or 2 knives to cut in 1/4 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in 1/4 cup nuts.
  5. Place cereal, dates and remaining butter in separate medium bowl.
  6. Add boiling water; stir until butter is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
  7. Add pumpkin and egg; mix well.
  8. Combine remaining ingredients in large bowl.
  9. Add cereal mixture; stir just until moistened.
  10. (Batter will be thick.)
  11. Pour into greased 9x5-inch loaf pan; sprinkle with cereal mixture.
  12. Bake 55 min.
  13. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
  14. Cool bread in pan 10 min.
  15. Remove from pan to wire rack; cool completely.
