Five Spice Powder
- 1 x star anise ground
- 1 x cloves ground
- 1 x cinnamon ground
- 1 x peppercorns szechuan style, ground
- 1 x fennel seeds ground
- Using a spice grinder (AKA coffee grinder) or blender, process equal amounts of all ingredients until finely ground.
- Store in an airtight jar up to 3 months.
- Used extensively in chinese cooking, this pungent mixture of five ground spices usually consists of equal parts of cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, star anise, and szechuan peppercorns.
- Prepackaged five-spice powder is available in Asian markets and most supermarkets.
