Home-made cranberry sauce

  1. Squeeze the oranges and get your ingredients together.
  2. Put the orange juice and ginger into a pan (I used a thermomix, but it isn't necessary)
  3. Add the cranberries and port and simmer over a gentle heat for about half an hour
  4. Add the lemon juice through a seive to avoid any bitter pips.
  5. Test for sweetness and thickness.
  6. If you need to add sugar do so.
  7. And if you need to cook for a little longer, just add water.
  8. The cranberry sauce will look darker than commercial versions.
  9. This is because it is natural and has no artifical colouring.
  10. Great with turkey, but also with other white meats, hams and cheese too.

sugar, orange juice, ground ginger, glass port, cranberries, lemon
