12th Street Cantina Chipotle Maple Barbecue Sauce Recipe

  1. In skillet, heat oil; saute/fry onion and garlic 5 min.
  2. Add in ancho and New Mexican chile purees; cook 5minutes more.
  3. Add in tomato puree, maple syrup and chipotle puree; simmer for 20 min.
  4. Add in cilantro,oregano and salt to taste.
  5. Use as dip or possibly salsa, or possibly as marinade or possibly basting sauce for chicken or possibly pork.
  6. Makes about 1 qt.
