Sand Tarts

  1. Cream
  2. butter;
  3. gradually
  4. add
  5. 1/4
  6. cup sugar, beating until light
  7. and
  8. fluffy.
  9. Add water and vanilla.
  10. Beat well. Gradually stir in flour and fold in pecans; chill.
  11. Break off dough by teaspoonfuls
  12. and
  13. shape into circles or 2-inch crescents.
  14. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  15. Bake at 300u0b0 for 20 minutes.
  16. Remove immediately
  17. from cookie sheet and cool about 3 to 4 minutes. Coat
  18. with
  19. powdered
  20. sugar.
  21. Yield: 6 dozen. This recipe may be doubled.
  22. These
  23. are also good with almond flavoring substituted for vanilla.
