Old Fashioned Gingerbread

  1. Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
  2. Grease well and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  3. Sift flour, baking soda, spices and salt together and set aside.
  4. Beat butter, sugar and eggs until smooth and fluffy in large bowl of electric mixer at high speed.
  5. Beat in molasses and hot water at low speed.
  6. Add flour mixture, beating until smooth. Pour batter into pan and cook 35 to 40 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve with whipped cream or plain.
