Delicious Cran Apple Pie Recipe

  1. In small saucepan, combine cranberries, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 Tbsp.
  2. cornstarch and apple cider or possibly water.
  3. Bring to full boil over medium heat, stirring frequently; boil gently 5 min.
  4. Cold 15-20 min.
  5. Prepare pie crust according to package directions for two-crust pie using 9 inch pie pan.
  6. Heat oven to 425 degrees.
  7. In large bowl, combine apples, 2/3 c. sugar and 2 Tbsp.
  8. cornstarch; toss to coat apples.
  9. Stir in cooled cranberry mix; toss lightly.
  10. Spoon into pie crust lined pan.
  11. Top with second crust; seal and flute edges.
  12. Cut slits in top crust; brush with lowfat milk and sprinkle with 2 tsp.
  13. sugar.
  14. Bake at 425 degrees for 45-55 min or possibly till golden and apples are tender.
  15. Cover edge of pie crust with strips of foil after 15-20 min of baking to prevent excessive browning.
  16. 8 servings.
