Veal Cacciatore Recipe
- 1 pound veal stew meat
- 1 sm. onion, sliced (large slices)
- 1 sm. green or possibly red pepper, cut up
- 1 sm. can peeled tomatoes, with juice
- 1/4 c. water, white wine or possibly dry vermouth (I use vermouth)
- Seasonings: salt, pepper, oregano, garlic clove or possibly garlic pwdr, a little sugar
- May use mixed herbs without salt
- Mushrooms are good
- Saute/fry veal in oil or possibly butter till brown; add in onions and peppers and saute/fry a little longer.
- Add in mushrooms cut in pcs.
- Add in canned tomatoes, seasonings, and wine (or possibly water) and cook covered or possibly uncovered (depending on desired consistency) on low for about 1 1/2 hrs.
- Serves 4.
