Spicy Chocolate Cake

  1. Dissolve chocolate and instant coffee in the boiling water; set aside.
  2. Mix raisins and walnuts with the 1 1/2 teaspoons flour; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; beat thoroughly.
  5. Add chocolate mixture.
  6. Sift flour with salt, soda and spices; add in thirds, alternately with sour cream, beating until smooth after each addition.
  7. Fold in raisins and nuts.
  8. Turn into a 10-cup greased and floured tube cake pan.
  9. Bake at 325u0b0 in preheated oven for 50 minutes.
