Country Sour Cream Cookies

  1. Combine 2 cups flour and all remaining ingredients except decorator sugars and frosting in bowl.
  2. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
  3. Stir in remaining 2 cups flour.
  4. Divide dough into 4 equal portions; wrap each in plastic food wrap.
  5. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm.
  6. Heat oven to 350F.
  7. Roll out dough on well floured surface, one portion at a time (keeping remaining dough refrigerated), to 1/8-inch thickness.
  8. Cut with 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters into desired shapes.
  9. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets; sprinkle with decorator sugars, if desired.
  10. Bake 8-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  11. Decorate with frostings, if desired.
