Hamburger Sauerkraut Recipe

  1. Mix meat, rice and minced onion and pepper into balls.
  2. Place in pan.
  3. Cover with sauerkraut and water.
  4. Simmer about 1 1/2 hrs.
  5. Make roux - heat shortening, add in flour and cook till brown.
  6. Mix with meat balls and kraut.
  7. Cook a short while longer (5 to 8 min) being careful not to burn.
  8. Serve with boiled potatoes.
