Turnip & Turnip Greens Creamy Simmer
- 4 Turnips
- 1 bunch Turnip greens
- 3 to 4 strips Bacon
- 1/2 medium Onion
- 1/2 bunch Shimeji mushrooms
- 200 ml Milk
- 200 ml Water
- 1 Instant bouillon granules
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 pinch Salt and pepper
- Remove the turnip skins and cut in half length-wise.
- Microwave or boil until they can be cleanly skewered, then set aside.
- Also microwave or boil the turnip leaves, then finely mince.
- Cut the onion and bacon into thin slices.
- Separate the mushrooms and set aside.
- Add oil to a frying pan and cook the bacon and onions.
- Once the onions have wilted, add mushrooms and cook on medium heat.
- Once everything has cooked through, reduce the heat to low and add flour.
- Mix flour and ingredients, then add water, milk, and bouillon, and bring to a boil over medium heat while mixing.
- Then add turnips and boil for 4-5 minutes while mixing.
- Add turnip leaves, flavor with salt and pepper, and boil for 2-3 minutes and it's complete.
- If your turnips are large, then the leaves will also be large too.
- Please adjust the amounts accordingly.
- Use the good parts of the leaves.
- The stems are also usable.
