Blackened Tuna
- 2 -3 fresh tuna filets, cubed
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- hot oil (for deep frying)
- 1 teaspoon ground basil
- 1 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- In a bowl, soak the tuna in the egg for about 10 minutes.
- Separately, thoroughly mix the Spice ingredients and then pour the Spice mix into the bowl and make sure that all the chunks of tuna are generously coated.
- Place the tuna in a deep fryer for 3-4 minutes and immediately serve hot with tartar sauce.
