Sausage Roll
- 1 lb. Italian hot or mild sausage, removed from casing
- 1 pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- dough of choice (i.e. crescent rolls)
- Crumble sausage meat; fry with pepper and onion.
- Drain grease.
- Add Parmesan cheese and tomato sauce.
- Bring to boil, then cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.
- Place mixture into dough of choice; we use a whole package of crescent rolls pressed together.
- Put about half of the mixture longways down center.
- Do not put too close to the end.
- (Save other half of mixture or freeze for another roll.)
- Before closing, put desired amount of shredded Mozzarella cheese over meat mixture.
- Fold two long ends together, then place seam side down on cookie sheet.
- Pinch under short sides.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
