Chutney Cheese Ball
- 1 packages (8 ounces ) cream cheese
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 green onion, including some of the green tops, coarsely chopped
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup chutney
- 1 crackers for serving (I use whatever kind I have on hand, but I really like water crackers for this.)
- Put all ingredients, except pecans and crackers, in a food processor or blender.
- Process until well blended.
- Scrape down the sides of the food processor or blender.
- Transfer to a piece of plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours.
- Form mixture into a ball.
- Put nuts on a piece of waxed paper and roll the cheese ball in the nuts.
- Place on a plate and arrange crackers around the cheese ball.
- *You can also use a fruit such as apple slices in addition to or in place of crackers.
