Orange Soy Chicken Wings
- 6 chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons agave nectar can use honey instead
- 1 tablespoon mirin /rice wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated
- 1/4 teaspoon Sriracha or to taste
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 shallot minced
- 1 teaspoon miso paste optional
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds optional
- Place chicken wings in either a large Ziplock bag or bowl to add marinade.
- In medium bowl, mix soy sauce, agave nectar, mirin, sesame oil, orange juice, orange zest, ginger, Sriracha, garlic, shallot and miso. Whisk until smooth and combined.
- Pour marinade over chicken and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Remove chicken from marinade and place in greased or lined 13x9 baking dish.
- Bake 10 minutes and check. Baste with more marinade if necessary.
- Bake additional 35-40 minutes, checking frequently. Test one to ensure they are cooked through.
- Remove from baking dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional). Serve.
