Brownies
- 4 15/16 ounces plain chocolate
- 8 tablespoons Hellmann's(R) Real Mayonnaise dollops
- 5 1/8 tablespoons plain flour
- 4 2/3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3 eggs medium
- 1 7/8 cups caster sugar
- 7 tablespoons walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pre-heat the oven to 180u0b0C, 160u0b0C fan, Gas mark 4. Lightly grease a 23 cm square cake tin and line with baking paper.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and cocoa. Put the chocolate into a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of hot water and leave until melted (alternatively, microwave on medium power, stirring occasionally, until just melted).
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar and vanilla until slightly thickened. Then whisk in the chocolate mixture.
- Fold in the flour mixture, mayonnaise and finely chopped walnuts, pour into the prepared tin and bake in a pre-heated oven for about 35-45 minutes. Then leave to cool in the tin before cutting into squares.
