Orange Rolls
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 cup solid shortening
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp grated orange rind
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (105~)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup cold milk
- Combine flour, shortening, sugar, orange rind, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add egg and stir. Add mixture to flour and stir well.
- Add milk.
- Stir to combine.
- On floured surface, knead dough, shape into a large ball and place in a greased bowl.
- Let rise in warm place free from drafts for about 1 hour or until double in bulk.
- Punch down and divide into 36 equal pieces.
- Form into balls.
- Grease muffin pan.
- Place 3 balls into each muffin.
- Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Bake rolls 15 - 20 minutes or until done.
- Remove immediately from pan and place on wire rack to cool slightly.
