Baked Macaroni And Cheese
- kosher salt
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- cheese
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce optional
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 quart whole milk
- 8 ounces havarti cheese shredded, about 2 cups
- 1 pound cheddar cheese sharp yellow, about 4 cups
- 12 ounces white cheese American, about 3 cups
- 1 butter crackers sleeve, eg: Ritz, crushed, about 1 sleeve
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese optional
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until just slightly softened, about 6 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup cooking water, then drain the pasta and rinse under cold water.
