Green Bean-Water Chestnut Casserole
- 2 pkg. frozen green beans or 3 cans green beans, drained
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sharp cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can water chestnuts
- French fried onion rings or sauteed sliced almonds
- Cook frozen beans according to directions.
- Saute mushrooms and onion in margarine.
- Sprinkle in flour, then slowly add grated cheese, Tabasco sauce, milk, salt and pepper.
- Let thicken; add water chestnuts.
- Mix beans with sauce and turn into greased casserole.
- Sprinkle onions or almonds on top.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 375u0b0.
