Colonial Innkeeper'S Pie
- 1 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 unbaked pie shell with high rim
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 egg
- nuts
- Melt chocolate in water.
- Add
- 2/3 cup sugar and bring to a boil.
- Remove and stir in 1/4 cup butter and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla.
- Let cool.
- Blend flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Add 1/4 cup butter, milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
- Beat 2 minutes.
- Pour into pie shell.
- Gently spoon chocolate mixture over batter.
- Do not mix.
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
