Colonial Innkeeper'S Pie

  1. Melt chocolate in water.
  2. Add
  3. 2/3 cup sugar and bring to a boil.
  4. Remove and stir in 1/4 cup butter and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla.
  5. Let cool.
  6. Blend flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
  7. Add 1/4 cup butter, milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
  8. Beat 2 minutes.
  9. Pour into pie shell.
  10. Gently spoon chocolate mixture over batter.
  11. Do not mix.
  12. Sprinkle with nuts.
  13. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
