Nova Scotia Fish Chowder

  1. Cut fish in bite size chunks.
  2. Saute bacon; brown until crisp. Remove and save for garnish.
  3. Remove all fat except 2 teaspoons. In a large pan or Dutch oven, saute onion until tender.
  4. Add potatoes, carrot and water; simmer until almost done (10 to 15 minutes).
  5. Add fish and simmer 5 minutes more.
  6. Add flour and water mixture and cook until thickened.
  7. Add rest of ingredients and heat, but do not boil.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with bacon bits.
