Squash Dressing

  1. Simmer both squash in shortening 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Add salt, pepper,
  3. onion,
  4. parsley,
  5. soup base, celery salt, water and mix well.
  6. Simmer 5 minutes more.
  7. Add bread crumbs, soda crackers and
  8. cornmeal.
  9. Mix
  10. well.
  11. Add
  12. the
  13. beaten
  14. eggs, stirring fast (or
  15. the
  16. egg whites will cook and you will have white pieces
  17. in your dressing).
  18. Cook a little more to thicken.
  19. Also taste
  20. to see if you need more of the ingredients or to add a
  21. little
  22. more water if the dressing is too dry.
  23. Put into a baking
  24. dish
  25. and bake at 350u0b0 for 10 to 20 minutes to set and
  26. have
  27. a
  28. nice
  29. light brown
  30. color
  31. like your chicken dressing has.
