Sausage And Basil Baked Ziti
- 19 ounces sausage links
- 8 ounces ziti or penne pasta, about 3 cups
- 24 ounces tomato Classico(R), and Basil Sauce
- 2 eggs
- 1 ricotta cheese carton, 15 ounces
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
- Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain.
- Stir in tomato and basil sauce; heat through and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the eggs, ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
- Fold pasta into cheese mixture.
- In a greased 13-inch x 9-inch x 2-inch baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture and half of the meat sauce. Repeat layers.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0F for 20 minutes or until heated through and bubbly.
- Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle with basil.
