Tys Sweet Chops
- 6 ribeye (rib) pork chops 3/4-inch thick
- vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup rum OR orange juice
- 1/3 cup green onions sliced
- 1/4 cup dates snipped
- 1/4 cup steak sauce
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon parsley chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- In a bowl, combine rum, green onions, dates, steak sauce, molasses, parsley, garlic, lemon pepper, onion powder and salt. Pour into a 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Brush chops lightly with a little oil and brown 2 minutes on each side in a hot skillet; arrange browned chops on top of date mixture. Bake, uncovered, in 350 degrees oven for 25-30 minutes, until internal temperature on a thermometer reads 160 degrees F.
