Spiced Garlic Beef Stir-Fry
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak trimmed, thinly sliced
- 1 red onion thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 red chili long, sliced
- 1 teaspoon chinese five spice powder
- 7 ounces green beans trimmed, halved
- 1 red pepper seeded, sliced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine
- egg noodles Hokkien or thin, cooked, to serve
- In a wok or large frying pan, heat oil over high heat. Working in 2 batches, stir-fry beef for 1-2 mins. Set aside. Add onion, garlic, chili and spice mix. Cook for 1 min, until fragrant. Add green beans, pepper, hoisin sauce, soy sauce and cooking wine. Cook for 1 min. Return meat to wok. Stir-fry for 2-3 mins.
- Serve stir-fry on a bed of noodles.
