Apple Pie
- 6 apples large
- 1 whole egg
- 2 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 9/16 cup margarine
- 9/16 tablespoon port wine
- 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 3/8 cups flour
- salt
- powdered sugar to taste
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Peel and core the apples. Cut them into quarters, and slice each section, without separating completely. Set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius..
- Beat the egg, egg yolks, and sugar for about 2 minutes.
- Add the margarine and Port wine, and mix on a higher speed for a few seconds.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix for a few seconds. The dough gets quite thick.
- Pour into a round cake pan greased with butter and sprinkled with flour.
- Uniformly distribute the apples on top of the dough. Slightly press down the apples, without sinking them into the dough.
- Bake for about 30 minutes. Check the cooking with a toothpick, remove, unmold, and let cool.
- Once cooled, sprinkle abundantly with powdered sugar.
