Chocolate Brownie
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 3/16 cups dark chocolate
- 7/8 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 yolk
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1 baking powder scant tsp.
- 1/2 cup nuts or dried fruit of choice, optional
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Line a 15 by 25 centimeter baking dish with aluminum foil.
- In a large, microwave-safe bowl add the butter and dark chocolate. On medium power, microwave them together for 30 seconds then stir. Repeat until melted.
- Add the sugar and pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Then mix in the eggs and the extra egg yolk mixing well after each one.
- Sift in the flour and baking powder and stir until just absorbed.
- If you choose to use the nuts or dried fruit, at this point you would fold them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake 20 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
