Bibanesi Savory Treats

  1. Knead the flour, water, malt barley, oil, lard, yeast, and salt together for approximately 10 minutes by hand on a work surface.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Shape the dough into long breadsticks approximately 1/2 inch thick, coat them with the sesame seeds, then cut them into pieces approximately 5 centimeters long.
  4. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and let them rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden.
  7. Turn off the oven, leave them in the oven, and let them cool completely with the oven door slightly ajar.
  8. They can be stored for up to 1 week in a metal canister.
