Kasspatzle

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, the whole eggs, the egg whites, and the milk to obtain an even dough. Add salt at the end.
  2. Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a large pot of water.
  4. Grate the dough with a cheese grater over the hot water.
  5. Let the dough cook in the water until the pieces float to the surface.
  6. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the baking.
  7. In a frying pan, heat 30 grams of butter.
  8. Sautee the chopped onion in the butter for 5 minutes.
  9. Add the diced ham and mix.
  10. Add the pasta and cheese.
  11. Mix with a wooden spoon until the cheese melts.
