Apple Pie With Custard Cream
- 1 base puff pastry
- 3 apples cut in thin slices
- almond flakes
- ground cinnamon to taste
- brown sugar to taste
- 2 1/8 cups milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 5/8 cup sugar
- 3 5/8 tablespoons margarine softened
- 2 7/8 tablespoons custard flour
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Spread dough in the pie mold, prick the bottom with a fork. Set aside.
- Reserve.
- Prepare the cream for the filling.
- (I used the Thermomix machine, at the link of the original recipe you can view how it is done in the traditional fashion).
- Place all ingredients in the cup of the cream and beat for a few seconds in speed 4. Then program 7 min., Temp. 90 speed 4. While the cream is cooking, peel the apples and place the well distributed slices over the puff pastry. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
- Place the cream filling over the apples and distribute the flaked almonds over it , sprinkling with brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake for about 25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Remove and let it cool.
