Sirloin Steaks With Potato Gratin
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- grated nutmeg Freshly, to taste
- 1 3/4 pounds potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
- 4 sirloin steaks beef, about 6 oz each
- 20 cherry tomatoes
- 2 ounces arugula leaves
- Preheat the oven to 325u0b0F. Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a small saucepan on medium heat. Saute the onion for 2-3 mins, until softened. Add the cream and season with salt and a pinch of nutmeg. Bring to a simmer.
- Arrange the potato slices in an 8-inch square baking dish. Pour the cream mixture over the top. Bake for 40 mins, until golden.
- Season the steaks with salt and black pepper. Heat remaining 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet on high heat. Cook the steaks for 3-4 mins on each side. Transfer to a serving platter. Cover with foil and let stand for 5 mins. Add the tomatoes to the skillet and saute on medium heat for 1 min. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Arrange the steaks and potato gratin on serving plates. Top with the tomatoes and arugula.
